Le Bois-Plage is a quiet village and one of the most attractive on the Ile de Re.
The beaches are superb and very large. You will be a few minutes' walk from restaurants, bike rentals and amenities.
The Bois-Plage market is the largest on the island and will also be a few minutes walk away.

Center of the village and the market, close to the beaches and cycle paths, this house will be the rallying point..Immediate proximity to the village center (Market and all shops) and 5 minutes by bike from the beaches.
You will reach the cycle paths in 2 minutes to explore the island of Re. The Island of Re can be explored by bike, it is without a doubt the best means of transport to discover it: 100 km of cycle paths connect all the villages.
The single track from the bridge to Rivedoux divides here into two routes: the northern route leads to La Flotte, crosses Saint-Martin, the capital of the island, then follows the coast until joining the southern route, which passes through Saint-Marie-La Noue, Bois-Plage then La Couarde.
As you will have understood, you can take your car to get around the island but it is so much more pleasant to bike :)

The house is located in the heart of Bois Plage, a stone's throw from the village center and the market, the largest and most attractive on the Ile de Re in summer.
Colorful and rich in flavors, you will find all the essential dishes for large family meals.

Getting Around
The bicycle is king on the Ile de Re. 125 kilometers of cycle paths running from North to South will allow you to discover the island and its small, typical villages.
La Flotte, Saint Martin and Ars, fishing villages, will delight you with their flowery streets leading down to their ports. You can relax with a drink on the quays and watch the boats dock.
The villages of Bois Plage, La Couarde, Saint Clement or Les Portes will offer you their large sandy beaches ideal for swimming and water sports (kitesurfing, surfing, paddleboarding, etc.)
You can also get around by bus (Line 3 from La Rochelle train station to Les Portes) or by Navette RespiRe (mainly in summer).
Be careful, however, if you want to take a taxi from the train station or the airport. You must order these at least 48 hours in advance, especially during the summer.
